Quiz Bru's free tier isn't a stripped-down trial. It's the same live multiplayer engine the whole platform runs on. There's no watermark, no 'upgrade to unlock' gate mid-session, and no limit on how many people can join a live game. The one limit that exists is on how many quizzes you can have saved at once: three. Once you've used a quiz, you can edit it, re-host it, or delete it to make room for a new one. The cap is on storage, not on play.

This is a deliberate choice. Live multiplayer is the core product, and restricting it behind a paywall would mean nobody using the free tier ever experiences what the platform actually does. We'd rather you run ten sessions on three quizzes than let one session sit untouched behind a prompt to upgrade.

Creating a quiz is the same flow regardless of tier. Add a title, choose a target audience (which affects how the platform's QB character tailors feedback to players), and write up to twenty questions. Each question can have up to six possible answers; you mark which one is correct, and the platform handles scoring automatically.

Questions and answers can be reused from your question bank instead of retyping them every time. The question bank stores any question you've created across all your quizzes, so once you've written a good one, it's available in any future quiz in a few clicks. That matters most once you've built a handful of quizzes and started seeing topic overlap.

There's no minimum question count. A five-question lightning round is a valid quiz. So is a twenty-question championship. The format is flexible enough to be a ten-minute icebreaker at a meeting or the main event at an evening gathering.

You control pacing as host: start the first question when the lobby is full enough, watch answers come in on the host dashboard in real time, and advance to the next question when you're ready. Each question runs on a countdown timer, and scoring is automatic. Faster correct answers score more points, wrong answers score zero, and the leaderboard updates immediately after each question.

Players see their current position and score after every question, which is what generates the in-room energy. The person sitting in third who just answered correctly in record time and jumped to first: that moment happens automatically, with no manual score tracking from the host.

After a session ends, the results aren't thrown away. Every quiz has a results history showing every live session you've run on it: when it happened, how many players joined, and a full per-player breakdown for sessions that finished. That history is available on the free tier; nothing about session data is paywalled.

The per-player breakdown shows who answered what, how fast, and where they placed. If you're running a team-building event and need to report back on participation, that's the data you'd export. If you're a teacher who ran a revision session, that's where you see which questions the class struggled with.

Three saved quizzes is the only meaningful constraint on the free tier. In practice, most people find three is enough for recurring use: a general knowledge quiz, a specialist topic quiz, and one that gets updated for specific events. If you need more variety, the question bank means you can repurpose questions across different quiz structures without rewriting them.

If you hit the limit and want to create a new quiz, you either delete one of the existing three or repurpose it by editing the content. The platform doesn't delete session history when you edit a quiz, so your past results stay intact even if the quiz content changes.

Everything else (live hosting, unlimited players per session, the question bank, results history, your account data export) is the actual product, not a sample of it. The free tier is a real offering, not a funnel.
